Botanical Garden

The Botanical garden is maintained by the Tamilnadu horticultural society and covers an area of 22 hectares. It is located on the slope of the Doddabetta peak, The garden has a terraced layout. It ascends the slopes of the hill at an elevation of 2250–2500 meters above Mean Sea Level. The Government Botanical Garden, Udhagamandalm was established in 1848. At the Botanical Garden we can see thousands of species which includes plants, shrubs, ferns, trees, herbs and bonsai plants. In the center of the Gardens lie a fossilized tree trunk estimated to be 20 million years old. It is one of the undeniable and  most popular places to see in Ooty tour package. Ooty Lake

Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary

Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary is an animal sanctuary in Wayanad, Kerala. It has an extent of 344.44 km with four ranges, namely Sulthan Bathery, Muthanga, Kurichiat and Tholpetty. A variety of large wild animals such as Indian bison, elephant, deer and tiger are found there. Established in 1973, the sanctuary is now an integral part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. It is bounded by a protected area network of Nagarhole and Bandipur of Karnataka on the northeast, and on the southeast by Mudumalai. Elephants, tigers, panthers, jungle cats, civet cats, monkeys, wild dogs, bisons, deer, bears, monitor lizards and a variety of snakes are seen. Banasura Sagar Dam

Edakkal Cave

Edakkal Cave is two natural caves at a remote location at Edakkal, 25 km from Kalpetta in the Wayanad. The name ‘Edakkal’ literally means ‘a stone in between’. Here you can see a cave formed by a heavy boulder straddling a fissure in the rock. The caves contain drawings that range over periods from the Neolithic as early as 5,000 BC to 1,000 BCE. Inside the caves are pictorial writings believed to date to at least 6,000 BCE. The caves were discovered by Fred Fawcett, the then Superintendent of Police of the Malabar district in 1890, during his hunting trip to Wayanad.
